Another voice for reform

I was happy to see a commercial on TV tonight sponsored by AARP blaming special interest groups for spreading disinformation and mongering fear. AARP is, to the best of my knowledge, solidly non-partisan, and also one of the largest lobbies in Congress. I know AARP has some interest in insurance, in that it sells to its members, so it may very well be that the organization itself stands to profit from such legislation, but as someone who'd like to see health care reform passed, I'm glad to see an  organization with such weight entering the public debate this way. This should help to sway public opinion generally and may pressure conservatives to make a good faith effort to get healthcare legislation passed.
