I don't know whether this is a good translation of the original. I don't know whether Jesus ever said this or anything like it. I don't even know anymore where I first saw this, just that I wrote it down on a post-it note at some point. 

It sounds like pretty decent advice, though, doesn't it?

I have broken both of those commandments a lot lately. Forgive me father for I have sinned....

They say public confession is good for the soul so I thought I'd give it a shot since you brought it up. Of course, I haven't felt like I've had any other choice.

Sure! Whatever I have to do--I think it involves you making a hefty donation to me, which causes me to flap my arms and intone some mumbo jumbo in Latin. Will that work for you?

Actually, it was a "canned" entry. I did have a good time, though you sneaked out on us! I barely got a chance to talk to you and didn't get a chance to ask if you'd heard which writer is coming to NCTE this year...
