For some years now, I've been cherishing a political theory which the '08 Presidential election could very well prove wrong. I once theorized that the first female President--and really, by extension, the first black President as well--would have to be a Republican, on the assumption that because these are more or less core constituencies of the Democrats, it would be more likely for the left to cross over to vote for them than the reverse.
Mentioning this theory in company tonight, it was pointed out that a logical extension of this theory would be that the strongest possible Republican ticket to run might very well be Ann Coulter and Alan Keyes. Ponder that administration, if you dare!
The obvious question, of course, is who would be on top
of the ticket. The consensus was that, in order to play to the base, it would have to be Coulter, as the alternative was even more threatening to a particular segment of the right. You are, of course, free to make of this what you will.
I'd rather see Condoleezza Rice than either of these jokers.
Sure. Put a couple more criminals in the White House? No. It's time to
take back our country, our polity, our heritage!
