On the real-life front, I finally got back to the gym today. It felt great to get some exercise. One unfortunate thing about the start of the winter sports season: everyone is inside, using the same facilities I'd like to be using.

The Heroes season finale was tonight. The season started off fairly slowly, started to get good... and I felt pretty unsatisfied with the ending. [Spoiler alert / alert to stop reading this paragraph if you don't care] A. I hate that they're setting up Sylar as the big bad for next season. I was sick of him long before season 1 was over--yeah, we get it, there he goes psychopathically killing someone else, cutting open his or her skull and stealing the power. It got old fast, because he's such a flat, disgusting character. Adam/Kensei at least had a little depth to him between his relationship to Hiro and the way he had a long perspective on things and felt like he was doing a good thing by wiping out humanity. Plus, he's not ridiculously powerful, just virtually immortal, which also makes him more interesting in a way. Speaking of ridiculously powerful, is it just me or does Peter become ridiculously stupid whenever the plot calls for it? He's met Matt before, right? Why not read Adam's mind when he's wondering whether or not to trust him? And there when Nathan gets shot? Maybe go back in time? Maybe inject Nathan with your blood since it should be functionally the same as Adam's or Claire's, since you can heal too? Or stopping time and nabbing Nathan's killer? Or stopping time and doing all of the above? I saw Nathan getting shot as soon as he started talking about a press conference, incidentally.

You absolutely have to go read this post, featured on Holidailies. It's a collection of the worst writing prompts the author found while searching on-line and her hilarious responses to them. I haven't laughed so hard in a while.
