A brief food entry

First, just a note that the Mexican-styled ground turkey dish is awfully good as a leftover, either re-heated or still cold. The more I think about it, though, the more I suspect that really ground turkey or diced chicken bits are really the way to go with this--hamburger might give it too heavy of a flavor. I may try it just to make sure (and use several sorts of ingredients so I don't have to move them in a few weeks), but that's my gut feeling, and if you can't listen to your gut when cooking, then when can you?

Working at Urban Edge Farm today for Community Service Day, I loved the smells of growing vegetables that I got to be around. The tomatoey smell of little tomato plants, the heavenly fragrance of little rosemary bushes... mmmm. It inspired me to come home this evening and make the delightfully simple yet tasty Fried Rosemary Potatoes. It's ridiculously easy to make--heat some olive oil in a pan with a liberal amount of rosemary. Slice very thinly as many potatoes as you'd like to eat and fry them in the olive oil, flipping once during cooking. Salt to taste and enjoy hot. Depending on your own taste, this will be good either really crispy or not-so-crispy. I encourage you to find what works for you.
