Thursday Think 'n' Share XC

posted Thursday, 19 April 2007

Here's the T 'n' S finally hitting the blogosphere. It's hypothetical filming day at Wheresmyplan. Light, camera, ThinkAndShare!

Your life is made into a movie; who plays you and why?

I guess it would be Simon Pegg, the title character in Shaun of the Dead, because he bears some resemblence to me, but only if he can take care of that speech impediment (you know... being British). I'm kidding of course--depending on the region, the British accent sounds much more intelligent and worldly or funny than the flat American accent. If that's what Pegg needs to give a sense of my intelligence and humor, so be it.

Your life is made into an after-school special; what's the moral at the end?

I have no idea, but I liked the question, following up on the first one. I suppose the moral is to watch what you say--it was once said of the band Queen that they were "prone to alarming lapses of taste," and I've had occasions where that could be applied to me when I was younger. You know: months ago.

Back to your life as a movie: what's the genre (comedy, drama, teen flick, Bali-wood musical, etc)?

My life, made into a movie, surpasses An Inconvenient Truth as the highest-grossing PowerPoint Presentation of all time.

My live as a movie. Who plays me? Katharine Hepburn, I think, as she was when she played the no-nonsense, intelligent, independent lady opposite Spencer Tracey, New England accent and all. After school special, the moral? It ain't over till it's over. There are new horizons to challenge, new things to learn, unusual places to visit. Genre? Science Fiction, of course.

Who plays me in a movie and why:

I'd either pick Jason Isaacs or Johnny Depp as they both bear some resemblance to me -- I'm somewhere in the between the two of them.

After school special moral:

Well, if the fundies made it, I guess it would be what they consider to be the horrors of promiscuity. If progressives made it, it would be about how you don't have to settle down and get married to be happy.

What's the genre:

Drama, I guess.

Excelllent questions!!!

Playing me: Liv Ullmann, 'cause everybody always said we looked alike. Is she still alive? She must be as old as I am!

Moral: Beware, for you just might get what you want!

Genre: Black comedy.

Thanks, as always, John.

let's give this a crack:

Who would play me? Jon Candy. But that's only if we're daydreaming here. There is a specicic clause in my will stating that Zombie John Candy can in no way be connected to ANY reproductions of my life. John Candy was an aweosome guy who was cheerful, professional, and respected by fans and peers. Zombie John Candy is a jerk. If we have to pick live people, John Goodman.

The Moral of my afterschool special? "You can do anything you want if you have self cofnidence" or maybe "don't get into cars with strangers". we'll let histroy decide.

Genre: My life's movie would have all of the clumy charm and corny musical numbers of a full lenght Rankin-Bass animated special. (think Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer or Year Without a Santa Clause)

Alex Borstein would have to play me--diminutive and round--but only if she plays her MAD TV character who sings musicals when she's nervous.

The moral of my story? I won't go into that yet.

Genre? Freakin' Lifetime Channel.

Who plays me?-X used to think Uma Thurman looked like me if we are going by looks, though I don't see it.

Moral of the story-If you make a mistake, don't sit there and cry in your beer. Pick yourself up and try again.

Genre-Epic Black Comedy. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll wonder how one person can make so many colossally bad decisions or why anyone would want to waste money and film documenting them. Hmmm. Docu-drama? One slightly unwound womans approach to floating through life. Caution: Do not attempt to recreate these stunts at home!

I'd like Sandra Bullock to play me. She's got the right coloring, and she's feisty. It would be about a high school screw up who becomes a passionate teacher of at-risk kids. It would be a drama with lots of comic relief.
