Thursday Think 'n' Share XCVIII

posted Thursday, 16 August 2007

I almost let another day slip by without blogging. I don't know what it is, but even though I've had ideas that I wanted to blog about, I just haven't been able to bring myself to blog. Maybe it's the sword of education hanging over my head that gives me this blogging ennui? Well, there's nothing like a formulaic entry to get me back on track--how convenient then that it's Thursday!

What were some of your childhood dreams?

I was constantly dreaming as a child. I wanted to be a truck driver (like my dad). I wanted to be a writer. I wanted to build a plane or a glider. I wanted to live full-time in a tree house. I wanted to win the lottery. I wanted to live within almost every book I read.

How do you feel about your name?

It's sort of a dull name, you know? One of the most common names in the English-speaking language and all that, and maybe that's why few people call me by it. When I was in college, I was either called by my last name or by my first and last names elided together. In the first five years of teaching, I was a mister. It's only been this past year, teaching at a Quaker school, that anyone has used my first name on a regular basis--and only half of my classes did that.

How do you feel about saving money?

Um... I feel good about it--who doesn't? Some people can't, of course, and I suppose some prefer spending to saving, but left to my own devices I guess I'm more of a saver than a spender.

So how about you? Drop me a comment to share your thinking!
